Eden Finley ALWAYS delivers and her characters are ones that you will easily fall in love with but also want to hang out with and Trav and Dylan are no exception. If you enjoy romantic suspense, epic banter, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and a seriously steamy connection this should be your next book. I adore the relationship that the teammates have with each other, how well they work together and how the mystery unfolds all while the couple falls in love. Trav had his sights set on Dylan and he loves to push his buttons! On the other hand, Dylan works hard to deny his feelings for Trav. Trav and Dylan’s banter is fantastic and the push pull of their relationship had me laughing and rooting for them from the get go. When I tell you the suspense in this book keeps coming and there are lots of twists. Travis jumps into action and helps Dylan with no questions asked. When Dylan finds himself in a sticky situation and in danger he knows that there is one person that can help him, and that is Traivs. Eden jumps right into the action and we get a better understanding of Travis Mike Bravo team and history as well as Dylan’s role as a DEA agent. Their “meet cute” was pretty epic, and is one that shall not be missed. Dylan and Travis have history, some good and some not so good. After reading Mike Bravo IRIS, I knew that Travis was going to steal my heart.

Kindness has incredible consequences in this compelling novel set in colonial India from a "master storyteller" ( Publishers Weekly) and National Book Award-winning author. That said, my biggest beef with the book was the author's diction-that is, the timbre and level of his word choice. Overall, there's a weight and a darkness to the story I really enjoyed. The arrival of this new Ambassador proves disastrous, and the inhabitants of Embassytown have to rally together to survive the fallout. The central government sends out a new ambassador, a highly empathetic pair of men who are not clones. Ordinary humans can't communicate in Language-only special carefully synced pairs of clones called Ambassadors can manage it. However, they speak "Language" a two-voiced language built on a sort of empathy that conveys the speakers meaning directly to the receiver. The natives of this world deal in inimitable biotechnology that's much sought after by all. The story takes place sometime in the future on a planet far away specifically, a small colony on the planet Arieka. I recently finished reading Embassytown by China Miéville, and while it had its rougher points in my opinion, it ended up a neat investigation of what language is and how it works, all in a sci-fi setting. Listen to a clip from The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorense, Book 1 in the Coincidence series, read by Leslie Bellair. This novel opens with a meeting of lawyerly minds (which you can see, incidentally, here), in which the title is explained. I, at least, am generally incorrect several times over because the plots of her books tend to double back on themselves so often. But it did have one of the most important Christie trademarks: a twisty-turny puzzle-plot that begs for the reader to try solving the crime before the end of the book. I had never heard of Towards Zero, and it involves neither Hercule Poirot nor Miss Marple. I’m sure somebody out there doesn’t like Agatha Christie, but they have yet to tell me to my face. After my disappointment with going outside my known tastes, I have switched back to a tried-and-true. It then moves into a section from the perspective of the biographer, Ro. The novel opens with a page of fragments detailing the birth of polar explorer Eivor Minervudottir in 1941, on the Faroe Islands. The arctic explorer who Ro is writing about is always called by her name, which is Eivor Minervudottir. The other three contemporary characters and their labels are as follows: Susan, who is the wife, Mattie, known as the daughter, and Gin, who is called the mender. Ro is referred to as the biographer in her sections, which are all titled "The Biographer." The other narrators only refer to her by her name when discussing her in their own sections. These labels are also the titles of their respective sections. The four contemporary characters all have names, but are referred to by specific labels in their own sections. The novel jumps back and forth between these five different perspectives, and each section from a contemporary narrator's point of view is sandwiched by excerpts from Ro's biography on the polar explorer. Four of the narrators are living at the same time in the same coastal Oregon town, while the fourth is a nineenth century arctic explorer, and the subject of a biography one of the narrators - Ro - is writing. Red Clocks, by Leni Zumas, is told from the perspectives of five different women. Bringing to life the vibrant multicultural world of these great civilizations, he draws a sweeping panorama of the empires and globalized peoples of the Late Bronze Age and shows that it was their very interdependence that hastened their dramatic collapse and ushered in a dark age that lasted centuries.Ī compelling combination of narrative and the latest scholarship, 1177 B.C. In this major new account of the causes of this "First Dark Ages," Eric Cline tells the gripping story of how the end was brought about by multiple interconnected failures, ranging from invasion and revolt to earthquakes, drought, and the cutting of international trade routes. But the Sea Peoples alone could not have caused such widespread breakdown. The thriving economy and cultures of the late second millennium B.C., which had stretched from Greece to Egypt and Mesopotamia, suddenly ceased to exist, along with writing systems, technology, and monumental architecture. No more Trojans, Hittites, or Babylonians. Kingdoms fell like dominoes over the course of just a few decades. After centuries of brilliance, the civilized world of the Bronze Age came to an abrupt and cataclysmic end. The pharaoh's army and navy managed to defeat them, but the victory so weakened Egypt that it soon slid into decline, as did most of the surrounding civilizations. In 1177 B.C., marauding groups known only as the "Sea Peoples" invaded Egypt. A bold reassessment of what caused the Late Bronze Age collapse Blunt and his first wife back in India, during the 1920s a member of the British Blackshirts named Frank Carter, who also happened to be the boyfriend of Dr. Other suspects in the case include a former actress-turned-missionary named Mabelle Sainsbury Seale, who knew Mr. Amberiotis' deaths may be tied to possible attempts on the life of a banker named Alistair Blunt, who also happened to be a client of the dentist. However, Poirot and Japp eventually discovered that both Dr. Morely had committed suicide, because another one of his clients had died from an overdose of anaesthetic. Poirot's police colleague, Chief Inspector Japp of Scotland Yard, believes that Dr. Henry Morely, which occurred less than two hours after the former's last appointment. Not only was "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" considered one of Christie's darkest novels, due to its political overtones, the 1992 television adaptation acquired the same reputation.ĭirected by Ross Devenish and adapted by Clive Exton, "ONE, TWO, BUCKLE MY SHOE" centered on Hercule Poirot's investigation into the death of his dentist, one Dr. Twenty-one years ago, ITV's "AGATHA CHRISTIE'S POIROT" aired an adaptation of Agatha Christie's 1940 novel.
